Waylon Arnold Jennings June 15, 1937 February 13, 2002 was an American singer, songwriter, and musician. He is best known as one of the founding pioneers of the Outlaw Movement. Jennings first played guitar at age eight and first performed at age twelve on KVOW radio, after which he formed his first band, The Texas Longhorns. Jennings left high school at age sixteen, determined to become a musician, and bounced around as a performer and DJ on KVOW, KDAV, KYTI, KLLL, in Coolidge, Arizona, and Phoenix. Waylon is an album by American country music artist Waylon Jennings, released in 1970 on RCA Victor. Waylon is best remembered for the cover of Chuck Berry's Brown Eyed Handsome Man, which climbed to 3 on the Billboard country charts, Jennings third Top 5 solo hit.
