Исполнитель: Oasis. What's the Story Morning Glory is the second studio album by English rock band Oasis. Released on 2 October 1995 by Creation Records, it was produced by Owen Morris and the group's guitarist and main songwriter Noel Gallagher. The structure and arrangement style of the album were a significant departure from the group's previous album Definitely Maybe 1994. Gallagher's compositions were more focused in balladry and placed more emphasis on huge choruses, with the string arrangements and more. Play Guitar with Oasis' 'What's the Story Morning Glory'. Yeah, Oasis have discovered their feminine side on Whats the Story Morning Glory, but that doesnt mean they cant still rock. Hello is bent and stretched by wiggy wah-wah guitars and a shuffling beat, ending with a Gary Glitter chorus lifted verbatim from the original. The title cut starts with helicopters and static, then bursts into an invigorating riff that circles endlessly over wailing guitar echoes and hedonistic lyrics. Theres the obligatory T. Rex ode Some Might Say and the whimsical Shes Electric, which ends with a passage nicked straight from With a Little Help From My. And whats most striking about listening to Whats the Story Morning Glory today is how, at the height of their powers, Oasis seemed to be bracing for their own eventual downfall. The tone of the album is decidedly darker. And while Noel still deals in absurdist metaphor here how exactly does one slowly walk down the hall faster than a cannonball, he also emerges as a more personable, sobering foil to brother Liams bratty swagger-not just on his showstopping star turn on Dont Look Back in Anger , but also in the way his backing vocals imbue Cast. No Shadow with a deeper sense of despair. Listen free to Oasis What's the Story Morning Glory Hello, Roll With It and more. 12 tracks 50:12. What's the Story Morning Glory is the second album by the English rock band Oasis. Released on 2 October 1995 in the UK, the album was Oasis' most enduring commercial success, charting at number one in the UK staying there for 10 weeks and number four in the U. The album sold 347 000 copies in its first week in the UK and has so far sold over 18 million copies worldwide. It is the third biggest-selling album in UK chart history with 4. 3 million copies sold there,. Oasiss second album, and the one that catapulted them to worldwide fame. Lead songwriter Noel Gallagher placed heavy emphasis on rock ballads and stadia-filling choruses, and admitted a heavy influence from The Beatles. Whats the Story Morning Glory Q&A

makes me wish i had kept my original copy bought in 1995 UK Pressing,, played it once then left sat in my record box and one of those days when i was skint and sold it for £85,, am glad those days are behind me and now have a great collection minus this LP,, don't make my mistake! if you got an original then record it to WAV and store it away as the Original will be selling for £500 plus,, if you got another 20 years to invest then keep it as i have heard the degraded repress and you can't beat the original organic feel the original has,,,
Overall I am disappointed by this release. It is nicely packaged and reasonably priced (at the time of writing), but the discs were very dirty and presented micro damages (bought new and sealed). Besides, the inner sleeves are made of a particularly harsh cardboard that further cosmetically scratched the records when first taken out (they are now in Nagaoka sleeves). From an audio point of view the album sounds good, but I was expecting something extra from spreading it across 2 discs and in the end there was nothing special - at least on my setup. Maybe I got a bad copy, but I found whole experience underwhelming.
Geez. Guess I’m in the tiny, tiny minority. I’m a stickler for sound and thought this was very decent. On my system the soundscape was wide and pleasing. Also loud and in your face as expected. For the price and availability, I think this is a good buy. However, I thought the newest white pressing was horrendous. Absolutely teeny-tiny sound. Low end is non existent. Then again, I seem to be in the minority.
Where are the bass and the drums ? There is no dynamics, bad, don't buy it !!
If I can declare myself a fan of a band, this is the led by Liam and Noel Gallagher. Two brothers who, although they insist on avoiding it, are much better together than separately because together they made history. Oasis came to raze with the exceptional "Definitely Maybe" (Creation, 94), to return to the stage a year later with a continuation that would be the global conquest achieved with perfect melodies ("She's Electric", "Wonderwall" ), epic hymns ("Do not Look Back In Anger", "Roll With It"), irresistible half-timers ("Cast No Shadow", "Hey Now"), and electric lashes ("Some Might Say", "Morning Glory", “Hello"). Not much more to say. Push play and enjoy its themes.Instagram: @musicaligera
I really don't know if all you are deaf or what BUT the CD version of this album sounded loud, and compressed back in 1995, thus the vinyl version ain't no exception. Saying this, they did a decent version on this reissue. If you expect to hear Dark side of the Moon dynamic wise, look somewhere else. This album was meant to be played loud with no dynamics. Check you rig. I do not have a fancy one (1200, sumiko pearl cartridge). It sounds they way it supposed to sound. I have not heard the 2018 UO version but this 2014 version is quiet, sounds good to me.
My experience with it is that the remastered version sounded more compressed and even muffled at times, strange when comparing it to the loud and compressed original CD / LP mixes.
Agreed, as I recall the initial release was completely brick walled. This doesn't sound much different.
This is the worst pressing I've ever heard. Sounds like a mp3-file
Confirming what the rest have said. Muddy and compressed with no life. Why didn't they do this right? I know it's all about the money and it was easy for them to just get the album on Vinyl and get it released, but FUCK!, this is such an injustice to a wonderful album. Another time where I didn't read the comments before buying, stupid me because this was a waste of money.
Just grabbed the white urban outfitters version - matrix reads 138501E - not sure where this was pressed but coming out of my B&W speakers I can definitely say it sounds better than the 2014 pressing which I unloaded after a few days.
I can confirm the 2018 UO reissue is not from the same master. The UO reissue features the crossfade from the first untitled track into the Bonehead's Bank Holiday track like the original vinyl issues. The 2014 remaster featured a lazy edit of tacking the deluxe bonus track version onto the end of the new remaster of track 6, interrupting the CD crossfade between Untitled and Some Might Say. Also, the sleeve is different than the 2014 with a wider spine and matte inner sleeves intead of glossy, even though the barcode strangely matches the 2014.
Is it really good? I asked UO about the pressing, and they said it would be made from the same lacquer as the 2014 pressing.
Super P
Really unimpressed when I first played it upon purchase. Fancied some oasis this evening and stuck this on my Rega P3. The pressing isnt very good at all. Sounds like it's being played with my needle settings with way too much weight and uncentered. It's barely ok for a low budget setup but to be honest the quality in this pressing is only in the outer sleeve. I'll have to decide which child to sell so I can buy an original.
Great record ! LOve Oasis ! Everytime I go to ENgland I sing these songs, like the what's the story morning glory need a little time to wake up so sally can wait she knows its too late. Legendary album, very nice ! and it is amazing to have it on vinyl with great sound, completely recommend it, I hope someday I can run into Noel and then Liam (obviously won't run into them together) and they can sign it ! buy this album you won't regret it, absolutley love it ! When I listen to WOnderwall it makes me wish I would live in England and sit in my London flat enjoying a pint listening to this record ! Saying hi to my friendly British neighboors and talk about soccer or the EU or the Queen or the Rolling Stones, or anything English to be honest !
If you have $130+ to pick up an original, you have to do it. But if you want to spent only $22, want to hear Oasis in wax and don't want to wait for the 30th anniversary edition, you won't regret buying this.Records are dirty as hell, tho.
Disgusting pressing. Should've looked here before shelling out 30 bucks for this mess. Pock marks and scuffing galore. I haven't even listened to it yet but this visual inspection all but confirms it'll sound like shit. United deserves to go up in flames.
Sounds like you were lucky. I got mine with no digital code for all the extra stuff that was advertised. It's not like this was some "special edition" that didn't have the card, it was advertised on the shrink wrap. All I can say is that after having gotten ripped off so blatantly and after so many other disappointments with modern vinyl reissues in the sound department, I'm not getting any of these reissues unless they are CONFIRMED by multiple reliable sources to be worth buying, have excellent sound quality, and won't include half of the advertised contents.
Sounds almost like i'm playing it through the crappy little cd player I would have owned back when this came out as a teenager. lolVery muddy and flat. No life to it at all really. No pops/clicks, but the sealed records were pretty dirty with visible light scuffs.
Awful, awful, AWFUL remaster! Heavily compressed/loud,flat... Don't bother, waste of ????
I got a copy but it has U circled (United Pressed) in the runout. Must be a U.S. repress. Sounds decent, has a minor edge warp on disc 1. It DID NOT come with a download code but had a sticker on the front advertising such code. I got mine for under $18 on Amazon so for that price I'm happy.
Once again, like most modern reissues, they hit the mark with the presentation, beautiful gatefold, nice heavy press. But the sound sounds sterile and suspect has been through the digital ringer. Find abundant copies of this release at Winners Department stores in Canada for $30 CND. Recommended to those that use Crosley record players.
Disappointed... most of the comments remarking negative stuff are spot on, the weird part of this edition is that it is not consistent at all, some songs sound better than others, after a good clean up of the vinyl that is, since there was some dust on it despite being sealed. Unless u get a good deal for it (below 17 bucks) i would recommend skipping this and wait for a better edition.
i was analyzing the frequencies and the mids are so weak it's amazing, sounds so carboardish... bass is boomy and the highs are a bit sibilant at times, this is seriously an astonishingly bad remaster, i guess i've heard worse but the suggested retail on this was at least about 35.
Little Devil
Compared to what it would cost for a first or second copy pressing of this album, this reissue sounds pretty decent. Could it sound better? Of course, but for under $30 I can deal with this, and the 3 disc mp3 download is awesome.
Found this 2xLP set at the local drugstore of all places. Once opened, to my shock & surprise it turned out to be a US copy pressed at United. Also to my shock & surprise, these 2 fat slabs of hot-wax sound phenomenal. Nice open W-I-D-E stereo sound, cleanly rendered with good detail & a good grip on the bass. Nice remastering job on the music itself as well (as I find the CD to be compressed & congested) but these records sound better the louder you play them. The vinyl itself is flat as a pancake & pretty well dead-silent. Sweet deal for $30!
Cool you are happy with a United pressing. That doesn't happen too often. How did you recognize it was pressed by United, please? The matrix info for this submission here does not indicate that. Should there be a different submission for a US pressing maybe? Thank you!
I can't complain. No skips and scratches. Sounds ok to me.No superb HiFi but my original CD also sounded very flat.I bought my copy in 2016.
I have my copy and when I open it notice an excessive amount of dust on the surfaces of the discs. The sound of the last track on the B-side sounds saturated, (with the Shure M-44/7), at first I thought it was manufacturing problem, but when I changed my capsule, (AT-120E) I noticed that the recording level of the B Disc is so high that with the capsule shure sounds great and with the audiotechnica sounds better, however I had to wash several times the disc to avoid that the excess of dust would ruin even more the bad sound of the album.
I was excited to play this on vinyl but this reissue is so bad I thought somebody had changed the settings on my hifi system. Sounds extremely bass heavy and everything sounds flat and lifeless. Even the mastering on the downloads is far far too loud. The only good thing to say about this release is the inclusion of all the bonus material. Vinyl sounds awful though.
Ab-solute horse-shit One of my fav albums from the 90s and I got rid of this after two weeks - such a bad pressing it was making me dislike the album - harsh and fuzzy with no life or body AVOID!!!
i thought it was only me before checking further comments... it is impressive how bad they managed to make this sound, and the original price is above 30 bucks... i am glad i found it for about 17 but i still felt kinda mugged since i was expecting an actual nice master as the presentation would suggest and it is just not worth the suggested price... sad for the people who paid full price
Just got my copy and both LPs are sides A and B. I'm thinking the plain black sleeves with no hole in the middle to show the label caused this mix-up. Also the apparently poor manufacturing/packaging job by whoever handled this pressing, evident from the sheer volume of complaints expressed in this Reviews section.
Bought another copy, this time from a local record store, and got two copies of A/B AGAIN!!! Beware of this possibility when buying the 2014 remaster; if you elect to do so anyway, go for a local record store copy so returns are easy. Extra little tidbit: the store I bought from sent me sides C and D, and I'm pretty sure they pressed it themselves.
The sound on the reissues is ok, not clear enough but not awful, they are loud enough though.
This reissue sounds terrible and lifeless. Save your money and buy the creation pressing
I have Two copies. First copy buy in juni 2016, No jump but crack and pops for all song.(but sound is ok)i decide to buy a second copy in Amazon (sept 2016), but Jump in "Dont look back in anger" and some might say. I think that the problem is for 3000 pressing.... Direct return to amazon.... I keep my first copy....I wait again one year for buy a new copy....(there is not the same inscription on my first copy (witheout jump...number) and my secund copy with jump (letter).
Had 3 copies of this and dont look back jumped on them all. Would rather spend the extra money and get an original
Freaky Hook
Did they not correct any phasing problems when they pressed it or something?
Return and wait 1 year....only solution actualy. I keep my first copy.
my first copy have crack and pops but no Jump... I think that no editing is correct...
Same problem here with 2 copies, Third one will no doubt be returned too. Exact same jump on them.
I've watched the comparison videos and while, yes, from there the original sounds best, this reissue is listenable to me. I can't afford an original at it's current price point so this one will satisfy me until maybe one day I'll be able to get one.
I thought the 2009 pressing was just ott loud!.. Not punchy at all (only thing i liked was the different mix of boneheads bank holiday) Is this the case with this one .. Is it much worse?I've got an original creation in cerry good condition but don't want to wear it out
The new pressing is actually the worst pressing :(. Creation sounds the best.
Not that impressed with the sound...it sounds really loud and noisy. There are two skips in Don't look back and may in Some Might Say, probably because it's loudness. Disappointed. The remastered digital audio sounds fine though.
The sound is a bit disappointing. The first few tracks are very noisy for a newly remastered re-issue. It gets progressively better sounding as the album continues, each side sounding better than the last, but still, it could have been a lot better. The records are very clean looking, I can't see any dirt or anything that could be causing the issues. It almost feels like whoever worked on it started out not knowing how to level everything and then gradually getting the hang of it track by track. I know that's probably not the case but it's the feeling I get listening to it. Anyway, it's a good album, but I wouldn't recommend this pressing unless it's on sale.
This is the worst pressing of these three actually. Check the comparison.
Pearl Jam? I just got my reissue copy and LP1 is Pearl Jam -Ten with the correct Oasis label. I could tell something was wrong before I even played it because there were 6 songs on side A instead of 3. Did this happen to anyone else?
Holy shit, this is hilarious. Seems clear to me that the manufacturing/packaging process with this album was pretty haphazard: my copy came with duplicates of LP1 (sides A and B) instead of copies of LP1 and LP2 (sides C and D). Not exactly as absurd of an occurrence as yours, but it certainly tells you something.
The same thing happened to me. I just received the LPs and Side 1 is Pearl Jam! Now what do we do!?
While what happened to you is a total bummer, you bought Oasis and got Pearl Jam instead, it's kinda awesome. Like the people at the pressing plant just thought 'they're both classic '90s rock albums, no one will care'. Or maybe it's some sort of Anti-Britain, Pro-America industrial sabotage.
Same with me but Side 1 is correct Oasis tracks, side 2 is Pearl Jam.
Post this on the forum. Probably get it answered sooner.
Comparison of three pressings:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrHSOmWQM8Y
It sounds okay. The bass is pretty heavy and it's not punching very much, it's just loud.
Yes, I definitely had to turn the bass down a little.
